Campground · USDA Forest Service Fees: reservable on Recreation.gov (nightly fee) Overview Wishon Campground is located across the street from Bass Lake. The camp is shady, due to dense stands of manzanita, oak, cedar and pine, and thick undergrowth provides ample privacy. Some sites at Wishon offer lake views. Recreation Bass Lake offers a beach and boat ramp. Popular activities include swimming, motorized boating, canoeing, kayaking, water skiing, sailing and fishing for bass, trout, bluegill and catfish. Nearby hiking trails include Willow Creek (2.7 miles), Goat Mountain (2.6 miles), Spring Cove (2.6 miles) and Way-of-the-Mono Interpretive Trail (1 mile). A variety of educational programs are offered on weekends during the summer. Facilities Each campsite has a picnic table, stone fire pit and a pedestal grill. Drinking water and flush toilets are provided. Parking spurs are dirt but may be bumpy and difficult to access because of the interior roads.… Getting there: From Fresno, California, take Highway 41 north through Oakhurst. Turn right on Forest Road 222 toward Bass Lake. Keep right for 3.5 miles to the campground registration office. Keep left, and continue to Wishon Bass Lake Campground.
